Understanding Your Bid Status

After placing a bid, its status depends on the relationship between your max price and the auction's current clearing price. Here is what each status means.

In-Range

Your bid is in-range when your max price is greater than or equal to the current clearing price.

  • Your bid is actively participating in the auction
  • Your committed funds are locked -- you cannot withdraw while in-range
  • You are expected to receive tokens when the auction settles
caution

In-range bids cannot be withdrawn. This is a core CCA rule that prevents strategic bid manipulation. Only commit funds you are comfortable locking for the auction duration.

Out-of-Range

Your bid is out-of-range when your max price is below the current clearing price.

  • Your bid is not currently active in the auction
  • You can withdraw your funds at any time
  • If the clearing price drops below your max price (due to other withdrawals), your bid automatically becomes in-range again

Partially Filled

A bid is partially filled when it sits exactly at the clearing price boundary and there is more demand than supply at that price level.

  • You receive a pro-rata share of the available tokens at your price level
  • The rest of your committed funds are returned as a refund upon settlement
  • This happens when multiple bids share the same max price and total demand exceeds supply

Fully Filled

A bid is fully filled when your entire bid amount is used to purchase tokens at the clearing price.

  • Your full budget is allocated to buying tokens
  • Tokens received = Bid amount / Clearing price
  • This is the most common outcome for bids well above the clearing price

Checking Your Bids

To review all your bids:

  1. Connect your wallet
  2. Navigate to the Portfolio page from the top navigation
  3. Each bid displays its auction, max price, amount committed, current status, and fill percentage

The Portfolio page updates as clearing prices change, so your bid status may shift between in-range and out-of-range during an active auction. After an auction settles, your final fill amount is locked in and you can proceed to claim your tokens.
